Trick Laser Max Metal with Linear Rails Respin

This idea was taken from mhackney, he had a great idea of adding linear rails to the existing Max Metal frame. The frame is an amazing platform as it is, but linear rails would just be the icing on the cake. I am making a new thread so to not steal his thunder. As of early September, I think his project has gone stagnant due to other more pressing work. So I will pick up where his left off.

My Max Metal as it stands, The top of the chamber separated by the sheet of MDF heats up nicely via the 636W 110V AC heated bed, while the bottom of the chamber remains cool, and is actively cooled by fans in the back of the enclosure. The enclosure is also fully lined with soundboard material wrapped in white cloth for maximum sound dampening.

I will also be posting up all my CAD files once I assemble everything and make sure it all fits correctly.

Those Mechaduino's look really cool. Definitely an easy solution for closed loop motor control.

FYI: Some of you pictures don't seem to be loading

I only see the one picture.

Yep, it looked to be a very interesting project so I backed it. I made a post here about it a while back but not sure how many people backed it. Once I receive the product, I will definitely be putting updates as to how well it works. I had an idea of using the current sensors on it to do z-height probing. Should be a better solution if done correctly as compared to FSR.

Thank you, fixed, hopefully.... Silly google permissions.

Nope. Still just the one picture of the mechaduino.

I gave up on google and switched to Imgur. Haha maybe now?

rubiks24, thanks for the hi-res photos. Everything looks like a great implementation and you should be proud of what you have accomplished!

How does the Mechaduino talk to the Azteeg?
