I just put in my order for a black V3 with some extra items. Let's see how long it takes this thread to beat the 100,000 views my original Rostock Max V1 build thread has!

It won't take you nearly that long to build it.

Hopefully. I hear there is actually a good assembly manual now
Actually, I was reading through the Dozuki stuff. Very nicely done and I like Dozuki. In fact, I just started using it today to create the assembly instructions for my new version 5 fly fishing reels (my aluminum ones, not the 3D printed ones). I'll do one for the 3D printed reels next.
Are you going to the NY Maker Faire in Oct? I'm gonna be there.

Let's just say I wasn't a fan initially.

(and the dozuki devs get really pissy when you call them out when they make stupid mistakes - Last year I tried uploading an image and their little back end system told me I didn't own the image! Considering I JUST copied it off the camera's SD card, I was rather annoyed. I emailed their support team and told them whatever idiot thought up the assinine idea in the first place should be shot in the parking lot as a warning to others. One of the little snots actually called me to take me to task for my comment! )
As a platform I can work with it, but the artificial constraints are annoying. (so is the inability to re-order bullet points. I guess they decided development efforts towards accusing people of copyright infringement was more important than than being able to re-order bullet points...*ahem* - and yes, I'm still pissed off about it.

)
Not going to NY - I'm allergic to population densities that high.

I just plowed through my manual - had all the photos and videos ready - and it went pretty quickly. There are a few wrinkles but it wasn't too bad overall.
I think I have the perfect name for my new V3, I'll call it GeneBee. Imagine the confusion!
"I calibrated GeneBee today using the calibration steps in geneb's manual."
"I ran my first 100 kilos through GeneBee!"
"GeneBee/geneb is a crotchety old so and so."
I like it.

I'm a big fan of how Aleph/Lulzbot's documentation looks (OHAI-kit). I checked out the GitHub and the setup is definitely more on the do everything yourself end of things but it seems pretty flexible, though I don't have much to compare it to.

His head is not too big but it does contain a lot of knowledge.
Knowledge that he willingly shares with the communities that he is on.
I am looking forward to Mhackney's build thread of the V3.

I think we might need an instance of LOIC to manage that. And I'm pretty darned sure Seeme would not appreciate us knocking over there server with it. But it would be funny.

Seriously, 16,000 views and not a single photo or any information related to the V3! I'll keep this thread alive until my V3 kit arrives, then I'll lock this one and start a new one for the SERIOUS work! I got a few goodies too like an extra accelerometer probe. I've already started looking through the Repetier firmware to see how it integrates. I'd like to get the accelerometer to work with the Duet firmware although my plan is to leave this printer stock for as long as I can stand it.
@joe, already taken care of - double wide doors throughout my house. I told my wife it was for moving my machines around but we all know the real reason.

LOL, yea I started at 0700 with 215 views. It would take about 48 hours with my macro.
But, I've stopped. I don't wanna piss anyone off with the hammering non-stop.

Yeah, good idea! I'm emailing Oly and Steve to apologize. I'm sure they'll think it's funny.
@joe, no worries I have a thick head to go with it's massive size.

Shouldn't be too bad, 3 unique views a second with image-less browser settings.

lots of images from the HTML standpoint. Theme, logo, buttons, member pics etc..
But I was trying to get 100k before you logged back on. That wasn't happening so I quit.
