Are there any issues running an LED ring off of the accelerometer board, preferably off the unused led pin? If that isn't a good pin to use, any others that will work?

The LED connection on probe board works fine for LED light ring. That is how I have mine hooked up.

I have mine wired to the hot end fan leads. I figured that if the new setup has the fan on all the time that I could just hook right in there. Makes for a clean install, and keeps my LED light ring on whenever.

I'm not worried about doing the mod to turn the fan off at lower heat, as the noise is a non-issue for me. The PCs in the same room have some pretty loud fans, and the printer is certainly not the noisiest thing in that room.

The Trick Laser ring mounts very nicely to the HE280 hot end. I used the spacers that came with it, and slightly longer mounting screws, and just lined up 3 of the holes in the ring with the 3 screw locations centered on each fan location.

I found that a 60mm ring was just the right size to fit inside my modified fan shrouds.

I'm using a cheap one from Amazon ( 2 for $7 ), it's a nice medium brightness. If you want a "flashlight" look, get a different one.
