Bed STL Model

Hi all,

KisSlicer's manual says it's better to use a STL file for the bed shape... but it does not say what to draw in the STL file.
Can anyone share his/hers, or tell me what to draw ?

Is it just a flat round ? cylinder ? Does it show the 3 columns ? How to tell KisSlicer what surface to print onto ?
Is it not only flat but also contains height information from a probe ?

I know at least one person on this forum uses STL files... I won't say who.... everyone knows who....
McH*****y, on your desktop, there is a folder named "3DPrinting". It contains another folder "Things", which contains another folder "Rostock Stuff".
In that folder, you will find the file "RostockBuildPlatform.stl"... but it looks like I can't download it myself...

Would you be kind enough to share it with us, please ?
Oh, by the way... your desktop is a bit messy, I reckon.... :D

Okay, I hope I did not scare you too much....

that was just a joke... you shared your KiSlicer settings, in another thread.... and I read the path for the file in the settings there.... 8-)

Here's my original one. But note, KISS 1.5 actually draws a round build platform for delta printers using the bed size values.

And my desktop is highly organized!

Thank you very much !

I don't doubt it... I was just kidding, so that you'd wonder if I can actually see it...

So, as I see it, it is just for display.... you could actually load the STL of the entire printer, as long as the build plate center is at (0, 0, 0).. Am I right ?

That is correct.
