Heat Target Fluctuation

Post by ExplodedZombie »

Hello printer people,

A quick note about my setup:
MatterControl 1.6
Rostock Max V2
E3D V6
M3 Stud Thermistor

I just got to the point where I calibrated my printer for the first time (Z-height) and am ready to try my first print. I selected the cube that was pre-installed as my first print since the link in the tutorial was an outdated fan shroud. Previously setting the temperature targets for both Nozzle and Bed seemed to work just fine, but when I select PRINT, my target Bed is 80, while my target Nozzle is 0. It doesn't budge for at least a minute then starts flipping between 0 and 235 really fast. Slowly, the temperature seems to rise but I don't think this is desired behavior. Has anyone seen something like this? The ABS profile I set up has 235 as the target temp. Thanks, in advance.

PS - Apologies if this is a super-noob question. I have scoured the forums for something like this but can't locate it so I had to post.

Well after some tinkering I got it to print one of the new fan shrouds. Pictures to follow. Looks pretty fugly but I'm sure I can clean it up. Gotta dial in those settings.

Did you do anything to fix the issue of the hotend temperature going back and forth between 0 and 235? I am experiencing the same issue since upgrading to MatterControl 1.6.
