Hotend Thermistor

I am almost done assembling my Rostock Max!
...I am however, disappointed in the was the hotend thermistor is attached. There has to be a better way. What about threading that hole and using a hollow bolt? ...Maybe there's some other classy way of doing this someone else has perfected?

This is typical for all hot ends. The thermistor must make good contact with the hot end to get accurate readings AND the leads must be electrically insulated. I like to use a very small diameter Teflon tube over one lead. The fix the thermistor in its hole with high temp silicone. It works and looks good.

Hi,
I have drilled a 3 mm hole vertically through the hotend, in the area where the heatings resistors are NOT placed.
Then I filled the hole with the grey filler normally used to repair exhaust pipes.
The wires are soldered to the thermistor and covered with scrimp tube all the way to the head.
The I place the thermistor head in the hole with the grey filler and put a small strip around the wires at the insulator part.
Heat up slowly, around 100 C take a break and let it dry for 5 minutes.
I have mounted the heating resistors likewise, put them in the hole and then added the filler around them.
