So Close! Deep scarring

Post by ExplodedZombie »

Hey everyone,

So far this community has been an immense help. I've had so many issues trying to get my Rostock V2 working, I can't even count them. It's been 6 months, at least. So after calibrating and changing values and more calibrating I printed this: A Rostock Fan Shroud.

It looks great! All except that gouge in one corner. It's pretty common for my prints to have slight gouges, always in the back left corner (Z-tower side, edge toward X-tower). Notice that this scarring isn't always apparent, but I beiieve it's mostly on the backside of an overhang. I was overextruding by 6% before but calibrated it just about perfectly just before this print.

Here is my basic setup:
Rostock Max V2
Mattercontrol
E3d V6 (updated with new thermistor) - 230c
Hotbed - 100c
I think Retraction is 3mm length @ 100mm/s
Travel Speed was 200mm, changed to 150mm after this print

As always, thank you for the consideration. I plan to browse the site once I'm a little more knowledgeable and help out like you guys do.
