I've been frustrated as I cannot resolve this no matter what I try. While printing, after about a half inch in layer height, the LCD will read "def def" for the nozzle and bed.
Then the plate will continue to move for hours as the hot end cools.
I have tried three of the hot ends clips that I have found. All of them seem to have this problem. I have tried to manually move the build plate around to pinpoint if it is a location that puts strain and causes the disconnection. I have found nothing though. Has anyone found anything stronger than clips or any solution?
This is the connection holder I have been most successful with

RESOLUTION:
So after thinking about IMBoring25's post and reading more about what might generate my "def" report, I took apart my hot end. Upon close examination with a magnifier, I discovered my ptfe tubing on my thermistor was slightly compromised. I replaced it with a threaded post thermistor and I am back in business. It was not enough to consistently short out, but would eventually.

Re: Unreliable hotend connection
Are you sure it's coming loose at the hot end? An intermittent connection anywhere or triggering of the watchdog will do the same thing.

Re: Unreliable hotend connection
Thank you, I had not considered that other failures might cause that reading. I went with the logic that it was the only thing moving and reported. Is there a way to isolate and narrow the possible problem?
Is usually print through the SD card. Do you know if such an error would log to the console in matter control?
I'll try that either way though.
