Rostock Max V2 Z-height adjustments unresponsive [SOLVED]

Post by rhoded »

My printer (and software) were working perfectly until recently when I decided to tighten the belts. The first symptom was when trying to calibrate the printer, the "Home" command wasn't working on the printer menu. Then I searched online and in the forums for my specific issue and it seems that usually when the stepper motors for movement don't work, a blown fuse is the issue. However, in my case, I have verified that the end stops work, the extruder motor works, I can control the Z-height on the Rambo using the rotary encoder, I can control X and Y in MatterControl. The issue is that I cannot "Home" towers either from software or using the on-board menu, nor can I control the Z-height from MatterControl. I have since loosened the belts and nothing has changed. I am on Linux and using MatterControl 1.4 and Repetier firmware version 091S. What could be causing this and what should I try to fix it?

Figured it out! On my way to request support, I came across the following link:

https://seemecnc.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/a ... working+on

Basically, my Max Z Length was set to 0. By upping it to 150, all of a sudden, my printer started working.
