Max v2 effector platform tilting

Hi, all. I've been trying to solve my issue printing larger prints (15cm or so on a side) that end up using a lot more of the bed than most of my previous ones, and I've been unable to get things honed in right on the X tower, no matter what I try - as the effector/nozzle approaches the tower, it pushes towards the build plate significantly as it gets within a few cm of the X tower base.
On closer inspection, the whole effector platform is tilting quite significantly when it's next to the X tower, but not the Y or Z towers. Here's it next to the X tower:

And then a more normal alignment next to the Y tower:

My first thought was that one of the towers wasn't properly square, but checking it with a set-square shows that they're at least within the tolerance of that. Is this the sort of thing that can be brought on by the tiniest amount of tower tilt, or is there some other issue here? (arms? cheapskates?)
I would love to try and solve this and hopefully get my larger prints working more reliably. The nozzle precision is still pretty great as long as it stays in the center of the build plate, it's only on the left (X) edge extremes that it starts going about 1mm too high (between X and Z towers) or low (next to X tower).
Thanks!
