LCD Shows blue but no bars on first power up.

Post by sandcrab3 »

According to the instructions, the first time that you power on the machine, the LCD readout is supposed to show 2 lines of bars. Mine shows the blue backlight, but don't show the 2 lines of bars. I have followed the troubleshooting guide by JJ. Checked the cables, reseated everything, and no change. Has anyone else experienced this, and what was the fix?

Try adjusting the contrast pot on the back of the LCD, and see what happens.

Given your other post about the bed heating as soon as you power up, I recommend you go through ALL the wiring carefully again. As they say in Tuscatillo "Somthin' ain't right."

LCD contrast is indeed the issue with the display. (Double check of the wiring is always wise too.)

However, it took me a while to realize I had the problem because the adjustment knob had fallen off in transit. I tried adjusting it, but just to give SeeMeCNC a shout out, I contacted them about the issue and they sent replacement parts right away. (I sent pictures so they could help diagnose it.)

Truly, great customer service.

I checked the heated bed positive and negative wiring. Just as I thought, it was the negative wiring. I had switched the black wires on the Rambo Board coming from the towers. It now heats like it's supposed to.
