Rostock v2 - New Power Supply?

Hi guys. My printer wont turn on today and it looks to be the 12v power supply. This is not the supplied 12v power supply that came with my unit (450watt). But rather an upgraded model that provided more power. It's a XION 600w (XON-600F-14R-201) which has worked for several years. I tried powering it up with the connector to the main printer board unplugged, but it just flicks a brief LED on the outputs from the supply and then they all go out.

But now that is dead, I'm wondering what the better setup would be. As I typically print in ABS, warming up the print bed can take 15-20mins. Is there any better setup for a quicker warm up period? Just keep in mind my unit is from early 2014 with no other upgrades..

Thanks

You can't go wrong with SeeMecnc's upgrade kit. https://www.seemecnc.com/collections/pa ... supply-kit

Well, you could, but at least they've gathered all the pieces parts you need for it. and the output voltage can be tweeked a little to lower the warmup time.

The easiest way would be to get a 12v 29a psu and use it as it is. You could bump up the output voltage to like 13.5v (I think) and get a bit quicker bed. I've used the machine like this for a few weeks when my ssr died. Fans didn't seem to bother those extra volts.

Or you could go the 24v+ssr route. 24v for the bed and 12v for everything else. Bed will heat up to 100c in 5 min.
It's a bit more complicated but worth it.
