Fan Solutions for 713Maker Effector Plate

Howdy folks,

I've currently got a little bit of a dilemma - I upgraded my hot end to a E3Dv6, and in doing so, also upgraded to a 713Maker effector plate. Previously, I was using Noircogi's Slim Fan Shroud since I have the Slim Enclosure mod installed, but the 713Maker mount is much taller. I ended up trying to make my own (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2764998) but have found they only kind of work, and on top of that, I can't do auto leveling reliably since the towers touch the fan shrouds, resulting in a slight bend during calibration.

I'm looking for a fan solution that I can mount to the 713Maker and allow me to do calibrations without needing to take the whole dang thing apart. I am also pretty undecided on whether or not I should even continue trying to bother with this enclosure, and just make a large sealed box.

Does anyone here have any insight they would be willing to share?

I mostly use just a Berd-Air for cooling with my effector plate. For ABS, which is what the enclosure helps with most, only minimal cooling is really needed, and when I want more cooling, it's usually for smaller, tall features, so adding part cooling fans in that case isn't a problem for me. You could also potentially an aquarium air pump, and some tubing and straws on the effector, to give you similar results to the Berd-Air.

I use one of these on my E3d and 713 and it works with auto calabration.

Thanks for the advice! I had previously heard someone else talking about the Berd but never looked into it. It seems like this might be right up my alley in terms of having a cooling solution installed in the event that I need one. Did you end up connecting it to your control board (with the switch kit/etc?) or are you running it manually? I think that I'm going to proceed with this...

Mine is connected directly to the Duet. I'm not using the Max system, so the back EMF isn't as bad as it could be. You can also fit suppression diodes to eliminate the back EMF. The Rambo shouldn't have any issues, as it does have protection diodes, IIRC.

I made one for 50x15 blowers, too.

I designed this for mine, and it's working well. I don't have the slim enclosure, I think they might bump against that, so not sure, but it's about as small as a footprint as I could make.
