I cannot overstate how much better this is than the Rambo setup supplied in the Rostock. It's litterally like a different printer. I sent the same GCode (one of mhackney's "plungers" for the FSRs) to each, same filament (Polysmooth) and the print on Duet is so so much cleaner. The Duet is a joy to setup as no change setting = firmware update on Arduino crazyness.. everything just works. Even their manual Delta calibration (still waiting on my FSRs for auto) is lightyears ahead of the Repetier one and faster to do/much more accurate.

Also the noise.. or lack of it!? Every movement is smooth and clear and quiet. It makes the jerky and noisy out of the box SeeMeCNC solution seem like something from a decade ago. I really do have to wonder why SeeMeCNC have not put together an "official" upgrade for all the Delta's they shipped and sell that to everyone. I've done tons of mods, spent a lot of money on various arms, extruders, hotend and other improvements and now realise its all pointless as the Rambo is.. pretty crude. Its crippling your Delta's. Fix that first people!

PS: Major thanks to mhackney and his guides. Used them as my reference, though didnt do anywhere near the cablework niceties he did.
PPS: Support was great from Duet3d too, I thought I broke my Paneldue screen and had two emails from them within 30min of my request for help!

Wow, timing! Glad to see I have increased my printers value 60% since purchase. Also good work getting the Duet in "mainstream" !

Might get their new carbon arms and effector platform though when released, nice to stay semi-official.

Kodachrome, interesting construction with the extruders on the back of the skates. How is that working out? And the third extruder, is that just "counterbalance"?

Lol true, but those fans do rotate colours, green might be making a special appearance for the weekend thats in it!

I like these a lot as they come with their own speed/colour controller board which I rigged to the stock On/Off switch (I just turn off at the wall switch anyhow).

Indeed! I have had them like that for months now, ever since getting the Prometheus Duel extruder system. Their guide talks about the improvements of "flying delta" for bowden tube hysteresis so I tried many different flying configs, including very getto bungie cords and the like. I also tried mounting diretly on the arms but that basically adds the weight back to the effector platform Delta's were made to remove.

These "Prostuders" are indeed heavy, but doesnt seem to be a problem mounted this way. And now they truely are flying! I used the stock thumb nut and screw on a custom plate to mount them, each base plate is mounted with a single screw drilled through the SeeMeCNC transparent carriages. This way they rotate smoothly as the printer moves up and down on the z-axis. It really works well despite what you may think! The only problem is the platform will not stay up without power now (it lurches down). Obviously that makes no different when printing or "idle".

Yes the 3rd, stock, extruder is there to at somewhat balance the weight. Ideally, once I confirm Prometheus Systems's Filaswitch post-processor for Simplify3d works with 3 extruders I will add a 3rd Prostruder there and Ill have 3 equal and excellent extruders.


To that end I'm currently making a mod for the Polybox to hold 3 filament rolls vs the 2 it does standard.
