Software leveling - given that Simplify3D has let me down?

I finally find out that Simplify3D's leveling wizard doesn't play nice with a Delta.
me in a sulky voice: Well, fine! I wanted full software leveling anyway!

What do you use to do full software based leveling on your Rostock Max v2?

What I want: "Hello, I'm your leveling program."
  1. We picked a location. Use the up/down buttons until some paper just slides around.
  2. Repeat #1 a few times. Now we have a fancy model of your bed's surface.
  3. Your next print will be perfectly level.

Only MatterControl seems to do nice software leveling, AFAIK.

"software leveling" on a delta is basically wishful thinking. It depends on having your calibration absolutely nailed, and if your calibration is THAT good, you don't need "software leveling" anyway.

If doing the manual iterative calibration on your v2 is just not working out for you, I'd highly recommend you get an HE280 upgrade. It's basically a hot end assembly and a wiring whip, plus an easy firmware update. It'll get you the best auto-calibration you can get, short of going to a Duet Wifi board.
