Hi folks. Been out of this for a while. I'm back in trying some test prints with PLA (200noz, 80bed, on glass) and for the single layer 75mm disc test the EZStruder is skipping every couple of seconds. The test seemed to print ok.

Video here

Cura 15.04.6 settings
.3 layer height
.5 shell
60 Print Speed
100% flow
.5 Nozzle
I did have retraction settings (but am trying a reprint with that off right now)
  • 2mm min travel
    enable combing = all
    Min extrusion b4 retracting = .1
    z hop = .5

Thanks for the help

Well its not the retraction settings.

This seems to be speed related. As the slower areas do not cause the skipping. My speed settings are:
  • Print Speed = 60
    Travel Speed = 50
    Bottom Layer = 30
    outer shell = 25
infill, top/bottom & inner shell all have 0 (meaning they inherit the 60 speed)

After troubleshooting lots of settings and cleaning the hot end several times, I've concluded that the old material I was using is the cause of this issue. It was a spool I got by mistake several years ago and it sat with the package open the whole time. It's no good anymore.

New spool is printing fantastic.
