Extruder is not changing Z axis during print

Here's an odd one. I can use the HOME TOWERS command on the menu and the printer responds as expected with the towers finding home and double tapping the home switches.
When I go to print something the extruder finds the build plate just fine and begins printing. What's odd is that the Z axis never changes throughout the print. I allowed one print to go 15 or 20 minutes, thinking it might begin changing but it didn't and began digging trenches in the already laid filament.

Anyone else have that happen?

Ok so I dug through some documents and ended up resetting the Z axis through the firmware menus. I think that fixed it....fingers crossed. I don't think it's perfect yet....but it appears to be operating as expected.

Early one when I still had the Rambo I had to do the exact same thing when the firmware "got confused". Did this fix your problem? I fixed mine by going to the Duet...
