Hi all,

I'm starting my build thread while my kit is still shipping. I'm tracking it now, and it should be delivered tomorrow in NW Arkansas! I've been researching and waiting to pull the trigger on a 3D printer for over a year. I'm ready to get my build on!

I ordered the black Rostock Max kit, an extra extruder kit, and the boroscilicate glass. I already have my aluminum plate which I ordered from a fellow forum member. I plan on doing the kit build with just one hotend first, but I'll play around with the dual print heads later in the summer.

I will have regular updates with build pictures. I will also do a review of my build and the printer once I get it together.

Stay posted for future updates!

Today was a good day. Fedex dropped off a few packages at my door!

Here are a few links to my unboxing videos. Part 1 and part 2 are a bit crappy in the video quality department. I fixed that in part 3. I will have part 3 uploaded shortly.

Unboxing part 3 - still uploading..

I started pulling the tape and getting the parts separated. With a bit of help from my wife and dauthters, we made short work of it. So far, about 1 hour and 20 minutes for the unboxing and part cleanup.

Well I'm off work the next 5 days, so I should make some headway on my printer. I just need to mount the hot end and extruder to finish the build. Calibration is a whole different beast. I have spent the past 2 nights getting Repetier Host working with my Mac. It kept crashing while I was trying to run a mock print job. I figured it out last night, and I was able to finish 3 test cubes, and started another print that ran for 1+ hours with no problem.
