camais - Rostock Max Build

Post by camais »

Hey, I started building using the geneb guide. However the electronics mount on his guide and other build threads show the electronics mount having holes in it. Mine doesn't (see attached)...

Any help?

You can mount the rambo board to the tri support plate inside the LCD door.

That's strange there aren't any holes in that door. How many doors do you have? One should be the lcd and the other for the board.

If you have the lcd you'll have to mount the board inside the compartment that holds the lcd. The cables are to short to mount it elsewhere. These cables have to be short, there are known communication problems when using longer cables to connect the lcd. Its a little different from the manual, but cambo3d does a bang up job of detailing it here:

http://forum.seemecnc.com/viewtopic.php ... t=30#p7030

Note: The location works well with or without the lcd.
Purple = sarcasm

Please do a board search before posting your question, many have been answered with very time consuming detail already.

Seemecnc keeps modifying the parts, that's why the changes in the look of the door. There are other changes as well but I'm not sure what they are.

There are several new build posts in the last week that show this new door and comments on mounting electronics. Check them out for more first-hand advice from other owners with these mods.

I just found out that they changed the electronics door. I suspect that goes hand-in-hand with the new RAMBo mount on one of the Tri-Supports.

If I ever meet those two guys, at least one of them is going to get a nuclear wedgie. :D

Uh oh. I was misleading you in my email about that. PartsDaddy was drillin' holes during the maker wknd. Not sure if I want to find out what a nuclear wedgie is. An Indian Jock Lock during wrestling practice in high school was bad enough.

So I finished screwing together the base, only to find that I forgot to pop out one of the cover brackets...

Guess I'll have to do it again tomorrow after my midterm...

tis coming along. Just school work impeding progress. Also gotta get me some screws to mount rambo. Searched all over the kit but could not find ones that were long enough to go through everything and had the correct threads to get into the blind t-nuts.
