Rambo pre-programmed

Hey everyone

On the seemecnc assembly video they say that the rambo will be preprogrammed and the esd bag will be open when we receive the board. The board I received, the esd bag was still sealed. Does this mean I need to program it or are they re-sealing the ESD bags?

Thanks

Doesn't matter either way you have to change the firmware and reprogram it even if it's just to set the correct Z height.

Pretty sure the RAMBo 1.1 boards shipping with the Rostock Max are pre-loaded with marlin firmware configured for standard cartesian printers, this is NOT compatible with delta printers.

Also the Marlin firmware provided by SeeMeCNC (Johny99's) doesn't provide support for the LCD screen (If i'm not mistaken). The firmware by Polygonhell does.

So where do we download the Polygonhell firmware?

O.K. for a newbe, just getting ready to install the software for my Rostock MAX, should I install the Marlin per the manual, (set it up right??????) or download the Polygonhell and install it? This is all starting to confuse me. I figure following the manual step by step hopefully will get me running.

repetier firmware is a lot easier to install and get up and running.

marlin requires you to mess with the firmware code if you want to get your lcd working.

your choice really. how comfortable do you feel about looking at lines of code.

I personally skipped the Marlin firmware all together, and uploaded the polygonhell firmware to my Rambo. Haven't had any complaints
