I'm putting the extruder together following Steve (PartDaddy)'s video - My gear with the bearing is stuck about a 1/2" from the top of the long bolt (from the head) I can't slide it up any further and I'm afraid to force it. The non-bearing gear is stuck about a 1/2" higher up than the first gear. Both are stuck pretty tight. (e.g. I can't spin the non-bearing gear - or move it back down to remove it.
Any ideas how to proceed?
thanks,
-sandy
Update: Was able to remove the non-bearing gear - it fits fine on the shorter bolt as does the other gear bearing, so maybe the bolt is defective? But I still can't remove the first bearing gear from the long bolt. Any attempt will just pop the bearing out of the gear.
suggestions?

Re: extruder gears/bearing won't fit bolt
I had the same problem with mine. Measuring the top part of the bolt with a pair of calipers showed it was a few thousandths bigger than .25". So i just took a small file and shaved it down a bit. Took just a few minuted to get it down to size. You dont want to take too much so do a few test fits. Dont force it down the bolt as is or else you might wreck the bearing or break the gear.
Edit: oh and it will come back out. Just hold the bearing as best you can and give the end of the bolt a sharp whack with the handle of a screwdriver.
