Calibration Problem

Post by 6bolt2g »

Hello,

I've spent the last few hours searching for an answer but I haven't been able to find anything.

I'm struggling to calibrate the Z axis. When the nozzle is almost touching the bed, my Z value is ~45. I noticed that when I command 1mm move, it says in the command window that it traveled 120 steps, which is what its doing, but shouldn't it command 106 steps?

When I open the "Firmware EEPROM settings" menu, it shows 106.67 steps per mm there, but it doesn't appear to use that data when in manual control mode...

Ideas?

get your currrent xyz values from eeprom, then subtract 45 from it. this will be your new z height for xyz values in eeprom

once you change those values, rehome. and try again.

Could you clarify which XYZ values I need to get from the EEPROM?

I'm struggling to find those values...

This is what the menu looks like for me:

sorry i assumed you were using repetier firmware since you mentioned eeprom

you will have to change your heights in marlin firmware. marlin doesn't support certain eeprom adjustments like repetier firmware.

I think "Homing Offset" will accomplish what he needs as well.
