Should I get the new pulleys?

Are the new pulleys worth the upgrade? do they give better control? Or are they just for stripped belt issues?

They're probably just cheaper, you can't buy 15 tooth plastic pulleys, at that size they have to be all metal, which increases the price.
The 15 tooth pulleys will be "more accurate" there is a potential for more speed with the 20 tooth pulleys.

That's an interesting point about print resolution...

20 step motors
16th step electronics
Means 320 clicks per rotation...

Using a 2mm toothed belt, the circumference of the 15 tooth gear is 30mm and the 20 tooth is 40mm...
Sooo..... a 15 tooth pulley can accurately position a carriage to .09375mm and a 20 tooth gear to .125mm.

Does this .03125mm matter when you're printing .2mm layers? Could you even detect a difference in the print? Keep in mind that all 3 carriages are moving at the same time to triangulate any given move... My head hurts :)

Now I have a migraine, I need some Excedrin after reading that.

20 steps per rotation? Are you sure that's not 200?

Holy crap, you're right! Add a decimal place to all of my math.... Um, I mean...... Stupid autocorrect changed all of my µm's into mm's :)
