Hot bed thermistor placement?

I have the round hotbed with my Rostock Max and was noticing that the manule shows the thermister mounted on the edge on the hotplate, but saw some photo shere showing it on the underside in the center of the hot plate. which is the correct way?

The new round Onyx bed has a hole for the thermistor to mount directly in the center of the bed. This may be different than the previous model of heated bed, so it depends on which one you have. The solder pads at the perimeter of the Onyx bed are for the wires that connect the thermistor to the RAMBo board.

i believe your confusing the led for a thermistor.
