Extruder motor only works when manually jogged

Post by stew4t2 »

I've not been able to get my extruder motor to operate under any remote condition - as in, only when I use the rotary control does the motor turn in any direction. When the printer is operating (NOT in dry run), the motor seems enganged (gives resistance) but does not hum or give off excessive heat. All wiring is ok - I do get the motor to work when it's in place of another axis. I've tried both extruder ports on RAMBO, no go.

This is under two different versions of marlin (pre-loaded and current) and the current version of repetierMax.

Any words of advice?

When you try to run it is the nozzle at operating temp?

Forgot to mention that part - It's possible that I did not disable the "check for temperature" lines of code properly to test for that. I did that early on, but it may have been wiped out after a firmware change. Can you possibly clarify exactly how that would be edited on Repetier firmware? If you are familiar with it, of course.

I do not know how to disable that. Does your extruder show "def" for an extruder temp or bed temp?
