Feeling Froggy

Post by cpunches »

I was just messing around. I'd just got my EZ-struder built and was just killing some time before the wife got back from an appointment. With all the hotend trouble I've had I haven't been printing anything but brackets for my new hotend and parts for the belt tensioners. Just on a whim I decided to try printing this Buddha Frog from thingyverse http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:84225. I know, I know, Yoda heads are all the rage these days, but I like frogs dammit.

Anyway, no one was more suprised by me than when a little over an hour later a frog was born. I'd reduced the size of the original by over 50%, I didn't want to wait 3 days for a failure ;)

I'm pretty happy with how this turned out actually.

Obviously there's plenty of room for improvement, but I wasn't even expecting something that was even recognizable in comparison to the original.

That's awesome, nice work!

I think I've learned that nobody prints all of the calibration stuff absolutely perfectly, and everything will be a little hit or miss. There are so many slicer settings and tweaks to mess with, and there are so many things to aim for when calibrating, that it's not possible to accomplish all of them with one perfect magic set of settings... After a while you just have to start printing things. Looks like it's working for you!
