Cheapskate tightening and acytel wear

hey everybody,
When I originally assembled my printer I remember reading that the acytals shouldn’t wear out. They might develop a flat spot if they sit too long, but will smooth out. Also, I should periodically check that the cheapskates are tight.
My cheapskates are constantly becoming too loose; I have the acrylic kit, causing horrible squeaking. After tightening them back up, I notice more acytal wear.
I’m wondering if this is something other people are experiencing or if I’m doing something wrong
Thanks
Tom

I've only had to tighten them twice in about 120 hours of printing.
I'm wondering if it's not completely a plexiglass thing..jiggling exacerbating the issue.

ive not had problems with mine. but i got an idea on another forum to use v-bearings instead of the delrin cap.
it actually sounds like a really good idea for longevity as long as it fits in the stock aluminum extrusion grooves.

find a set that will ride in the groove and no more worrying about delrin wear.

I have an acrylic kit. I don't think that has any bearing on acetyl wear, since the acrylic doesn't touch the bearings. What does touch them is the cams. If mine were acting funny I'd check the tightness on the eccentric cams. If anything can get pushed out of spec, it's them.

Wouldnt you get rapid wear on the aluminum if you have a steel bearing riding directly on it?

no actually, a lot of cnc machines use these just that way.
