Sounds like bad wiring. See this link............http://forum.seemecnc.com/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=2335

It shows how your motor connectors should look. Good luck with the problem and be sure to let us know
the resolution.

Seriously, I forgot that you are building a custom cartesian printer. What do you need to finish this printer?
The whistling stepper is probably too small for the job as I think you discovered. How close are you to finishing
this printer?

just the extuder, thought i was there and back to the build. bin back and forth getting everything done and pimping it out, then something else happens last thing was i had zip tied all my wires together at the rambo and it look so dam nice was so tidy and i put the board cover on and what the hell, z steppers doing strange things, one turn the other just shuttered so pull the whole dam thing a part thinking i had a bad motor........... nope wires to dam close to each other, so ya learn as ya go might go back and put in some shielded wiring my x and extruder are done with it and new problems but they are on mosfet plugs at there hook ups pionts , seams to be running other then my belts seam to be drifting so working on that today got to order stepper anyways going to be a bit before that gets here then i got to redesign a new extruder. so close i can smell the plastic melting lol. my kid is driving me crazy he wants a army of x-wings. hes like ok is it a FULLY OPERATIONAL printing station like this was the death star from star wars i tell him am using the force as fast as i can
