Not really sure where to post this but figured this may be the best spot. Im sitting here waiting for my printer to arrive (delivery is today) and decided to take a sick day...cough cough... So im sitting here looking thru my cad files and one of the main parts I need to print out is this track link. Im curious as to getting some thought on the difficulty of this print, easy peasy or dang it need to try something else.....

I looked at your .stl file with Netfabb and it shows that there are errors in the file.
You will need to use the Netfabb cloud or download the free Netfabb studio and fix
the file before attempting to print it. Just do a search for Netfabb if you are not
familiar with it. The part does not look that difficult to print but I would consider
printing more than one at a time to allow the first to cool a little while it prints the
second, third, etc.

thanks for the quick responce! I have netfabb down loaded, have no real idea what it does LOL but ill figure it out. So far I have just used it for looking at parts.
Printing multiple parts at a time is a must do for me as there are 152 of these on the rov and 304 of another similar style. This one part was just a bit odd compaired to some of the other things I need to print.
Is there any set time (or rough approximation) for adding the next layer? Or is this something I just need to play with once im up and running?
Thanks for the help, I need all I can get!

When you open Netfabb studio you will see a red exclamation mark if there is an error in the part.
To fix the error, click on the red cross at the top, you will see automatic repair at the bottom right.
Choose the auto repair and just follow the quick dialog to fix the part and make sure you save it.
I always re-open the part just to make sure the error is gone. As far as printing these, you will
have to experiment, there are just too many variables to say use this or use that. Good luck with
the parts.

I remember pacing the floor for 2 hours wondering where the UPS guy was on my first printer. Anticipating the arrival is not a pleasant experience. Opening the box
and seeing all those parts will make it all worthwhile.

I've been printing a lot of tread links lately (for a different bot:
http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:114349) and one word of advice I have for you is to print a few links, assemble them, and match them up with with the drive gears and/or bearings. I discovered after printing all 106 tread links that once assembled that the they did not mesh well with the bearings making them unusable. I had to scale the Z dimension on the individual links a bit to get them to work properly. I discovered on a couple of other parts that various settings can slightly change the expected dimensions on the output.
