Installed PEEK fan finally..now my hot end turns off
Alright guys, I finally got around to installing my PEEK fan. I redid my PID tuning, etc. Everything works great...the hot end comes up to temp no problem, but then as soon as my print job starts, the hotend just dies. I do know that the temperature isn't just dropping and that the hot end is in fact shutting down as if you let it continue, it just continues to cool down far below what just a PEEK fan could do to it. Also, while I did alter my startup gcode to include commands for my PEEK fan to fire up, I didn't alter any other gcode...and after going through it removed the PEEK fan code and just manually fired it up with the same issue. Gcode also is not calling for this to happen, I went through some of it. Any thoughts? Has me a bit baffled.

Perhaps when you installed the Peek fan you disturbed the wires to the Hotend or thermistor, when the hotend starts to move the wires are opening the connection.grabredemeyer wrote:Alright guys, I finally got around to installing my PEEK fan. I would check the wiring thoroughly Hotend and thermistor.

Eaglezsoar, you hit the nail on the head. I really had to pay close attention as I traversed the Z axis, but that's exactly what was happening. Thanks much!

You're welcome. Those dang wires cause many problems. I think we need a wireless hotend.
