When I picked up my Rostock MAX kit in person about 3 weeks ago, John and Steve made me an offer on a part cooling fan to try that I could not refuse. Thanks Guys!
So, I've designed a low profile and compact bracket to mount the fan. The fan is 30mm x 10mm.
The fan moves a fair bit of air (1.4 CFM), so it's very effective, but over powers my heated bed if running at 100%. It does run well at 25%.

It's been upload to Repables http://repables.com/r/155/

It easily mounts using a small screw through the stock SeeMeCNC platform. There is a small cutout in the base of the part for screwdriver access. The large diameter through the part is a material saver.
The fan is installed with the cage pointing up to bring in cool air.
Enjoy!

According to Wikipedia - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Centrifugal_fanMechman wrote:nice design... i assume this is a centrifugal fan?
a squirrel cage fan is synonymous with a centrifugal fan so by that definition this is a centrifugal fan.

I made one last night on my machine out of SeeMeCNC trans green PLA w/o a layer fan. Turned out well enough that I'm going to order the fan.
How is it working for you?

Looks good!
So far, it's been very effective. I run it at 25% when it is close to the heated bed. And I've learned the hard way not to use it with ABS... PLA only.

Why not on PLA? PLA is why I need a layer fan

Typo on my part... Active cooling for PLA, none for ABS..
Sorry about that..
