LCD issue

Hi,

I build the Rostock max. At the start the LCD was working. After a few days, just after the calibration process, the LCD stopped working. I checked the fuses, the flat cables, uploaded the firmware, the adapter board. Everything seems to be ok. About two days ago the LCD was working again for a few hours and then suddenly stopped working. I only see a few characters on the display and they are changing during printing, so that part is working correct. See also attached picture.

The printer is working correctly if connected to the PC.

What can cause this problem and how can it be solved.

Thanks

When you use the rotary dial, does it appear to move through the menus/options (even though you can only see the little bit in the top left corner)? If so, I'd say it appears your LCD is defective...

I would be in touch with SeeMe and see what they think, but I'd be inclined to say LCD. If you are feeling ambitious, you could try to examine the soldering on the unit so see if there are any faulty connections...

Most likely a bad LCD panel, if if can print 1 character, all the others ought to just work.
It's just a 4 bit serial interface.
