We need more information. What were you trying to upload? Did you make changes to the files? If so, which ones? Etc.

I'm merely trying to do the setup in the manual before my first print.

When you open control panel, system, device manager you should see the Rambo card in the list.
Click the Rambo entry and note the baud rate,
As the manual indicates you should have downloaded Arduino at http://arduino.cc/en/Main/Software.
The version is 1.0.5
Make sure that Repetier Host is not open when trying to upload from Arduino.
Make sure the baud rate in Arduino matches what you noted in device manager.
When you upload changes to the configuration.h file in Arduino select the Repetier.ino file when you upload.

Let us know if you continue to have problems and if you resolved this problem.

The Rambo card does not show in the device manager.
I have run the machine without the hot end or the hot bed to check everything out.
I now get a SD init fail message when I open repetier.

You need to install the Rambo driver After installation you should see the Rambo in your device manager.

Are you following the manuals that are available? Everything is documented there.

The rambo card shows up on the ports menu and is assigned to com4.
I have followed the manual faithfully.
I ran a part( motion only) this morning.
Now I can't even jog the machine or home it with g28.
M119 doesn't work either.
I don't remember seeing the 'SD init fail' message before.

The SD init fail at this point is not important.
When you open Repetier host, does it connect to the printer?
You should see in the display the version of firmware when it connects. What are you seeing when you press connect on Repetier Host?
We will troubleshoot this until we get it fixed. One other question, are you in the Continental USA in case I need to call you?

It does connect to the printer.
The version number is v0.95f
The screen says:
extruder 0 : temp sensor defect
printer set to dry run mode until restart!
I live in NW Ark.
Thanks

if you're getting temp sensor defect, it shuts the machine down! It's telling you there's an issue with the thermistor or wiring to it, and won't let the machine run without one

Thank you for the response John. He does not have thermistors installed but basic communications between the Host and Rambo should still exist such as the Host displaying
firmware version. Basic communication worked just two days ago now nothing. He will he sending you an email.
