trouble with bon mei PTC connectors

Post by pyrophreek »

Has anyone else had issues with the bon mei PTC connectors? I have had two fail on me now. The metal retainer ring inside disintegrates and the tube comes out. Even caused a clog one time as a small piece got caught in the nozzle.

Just about everyone who runs a bowden based printer has experienced failure of the PTC connectors. There are dozens and dozens of these failures reported on this forum.
Different manufacturers have been tried and we have not come up with one that does not eventually fail. I'm not saying that everyone experience these failures but enough do
so it is a well documented problem with no known solution as yet. The ones from E3D are the best but they have 1/8 British Pipe threads and only fit the E3D hotend. The ones
for the EZstruder are 5mm.
