Nice new platform, it would be nice if we could get some old platforms.

Ha ha ha Eagle :)

So... what are the advantages of this new platform?

They put in that spring bar that puts tension on the universal joint.
No more sanding.

Ahhh... So that's the new "no sand" setup I've been hearing about. Nice... That plastic is mighty resistant to sanding!

It looks like Trick Laser is going to have to come up with some new arms to fit that effector.

Mind reader.

I'm thinking you could just buy a larger diameter shaft, or put some spacers, cut the length of it and print a smaller clip without modding the arms

I wonder if that was part of the design criteria ;)

It looks roughly the same size. If anything, it should make Tricklasers job easier since it is a single bar setup for him to sell now that appears to snap in place. The question is did they change the carriage mounts too.

The only difference I can see in the cheapskates on the V2 Rostock is that they have the Blinky eyes carved into them. They do look
good like that.

Blinky eyes and no 5th bearing.

I heard Steve say that he'd love to have an "auto-tensioning" system with a spring like the EzStruder has. I haven't heard or seen anything since then, but I'm hoping that, that's the new design!

OOOOHHHH YA, it is really slick. I saw the first printed proto a couple months ago. nice design.
Steve was cutting on the mold for it last week so it should not be to long until they start shipping.

You will have them at MRRF, right Steve???

Is there any news on the new design? After seeing a demo of Orion, I'm anxious to build a Rostock of my very own, so I've been lurking here for a few days to learn and I'm the type of guy who wants the most mind blowing I can get.

No eta yet. They're still deciding on the fuse length. :D

I recommend a short fuse, it adds to the excitement.

Thanks for the quick answer. I guess my next question is if I pull the trigger now will I be able to upgrade to mind blowing components when they eventually come out, and will it be expensive (like more than $50-$100) to get an upgrade? I'm anxious to join the fun, but patient if I can save money too.
