From the Chicago Burbs!

Post by Print_This »

Hi all, my name is Ken, im a little late in the introduction area, but have been reading lots!

I'm fairly new to 3d printing but not to cnc-ing
i have cnc routers at home and do plenty aluminum and wood work, but been reading about 3dr for couple years and wanted something different in my shop.
I have a Rostock Max first gen, but with the EZStruder and heat bed upgrades.

my main slicing software right now is kisslicer, and am loving it!

now if i can just stop tinkering around making more vases and yoda heads and make the real things i had intended i will keep my wife happy,
she is tired of me staring at the printer for hours watching the magic happen! lol

hope to get to know some of you and see what you have been making.

any other chicagoans?

Hi Ken and welcome to the forum.
I have read some of your past posts and I am curious about the Kisslicer Pro key, did you ever receive it?
It's good to see you have the first gen machine like I have and did all the nice upgrades. It's also good that
you have no major problems printing.
Happy Printing.

hi, sadly i hadn't received my pro key, but i emailed the paypal account but no reply,
im bummed because i get way better results with kisslicer over slic3r
i would just like to upgrade so i can use some of the extra utilities like adding more files at one time etc.

but yes the machine seems dialed in well and prints great!
have only been using PLA from both ultimachine and justpla which both seem to print very well!

thanks for the post!
Ken

I am sorry to hear that you never got your Pro key. No one seems to know what happened to the developer of Kisslicer. It's like he disappeared from the
face of the earth. No development, forum got trashed, no responses to email, now no Pro licenses.
I also use the Justpla and have had good luck printing with it.

Hi Ken, I am Scott - in Schaumburg.

I got my Max V2 back in March. Seeing your post reminded me I never did an "intro" thread of my own. I guess I should. :)
