how to change layer extrusion width

Post by DdeWaard »

hello,

for some time now, my rostock max has been printing fairly well.
i have noticed since the first print it made how the bottom layer is more accurate and how it has thinner lines than the top layer and i could not figure out where to change these values.
now i found this:
rostock g-code.png
in this g-code it shows that it makes the bottom layer 0.4mm wide and the top layer, like the solid infill layer, 0.85.
i would like to have both top and bottom 0.4mm layers or something close, not to have the top layer twice as wide as the bottom, that looks awefull.
i'm using regular repetier host.

thanks in advance.

Finding the extrusion width:
- Go to the slicing tab and choose the settings (configure) for slic3r.
- Under the 'print settings' tab (it's the first one you'll see by default)
- The last settings group called 'advanced'
- If it's using the default settings these will all be 0
- Set them to whatever you desire and enjoy!

Now this may not solve your problem. If your e-steps are not set correctly, you'll still have some problems with the solid infill layers.

Give it a shot and see how you go.
I loved my Rostock so much I now sell them in Oz :)
