Strongest Filament?
I am looking for a strong filament That can withstand quite a lot of of force and It also Must be pretty easy to print with like PLA. It would also be nice if it could be in color. I have been looking at the T-Glase and the Taulman 645 filament. What of these would best fit my needs? I am printing on the orion. If you have other suggestions just tell me.

Depends on what you mean by strength.printer999 wrote:I am looking for a strong filament That can withstand quite a lot of of force and It also Must be pretty easy to print with like PLA. PLA is very hard but tends to crack the nylon variants can be strong vs torsional forces but generally aren't "hard", the majority of them are also a pig to print.
If you can deal with the warping, then for mechanical parts, one of the Nylons is probably your best bet.
I haven't tried Bridge yet, it's supposed to be a lot less difficult to print.
Taulman also actually publish specs for their filament.

sadly the orion can't go over 250cNylocke wrote:*quietly whispers "Ultimachine Polycarbonate"*

What is strongest 645, bridge, or t-glase?guanu wrote:http://seemecnc.com/collections/filamen ... nt-1-spool

Re: Strongest Filament?
Not T-Glase, you're basically asking which is stronger, Nylon or Nylon
From the 645 page Tensile Strength, Yield 12,428 psi ISO METHOD 527
Bridge says 4800 when printed, of course they aren't both the same nylon, bridge was modified to make it cheaper and easier to print.
Keep in mind the nylon will deform before breaking, considerably more than most filaments

Re: Strongest Filament?
What kind of stength? Tensile? Compression? Shear? Torsion? Impact?
Re: Strongest Filament?
Just think about this, Bridge is a modified nylon polymer that was made for certain properties. Less warp, less moisture absorption, and to be cheaper, thats literally what it says on the page Taulman provides. Tensile wise, the 645 will beat just about anything out of the water, also I couldn't find anything about strength yields for T-Glase, or for bridge other than the 4800 number they provide, and same for the tensile strength of the 645, thats the only data they provide on the material.
Re: Strongest Filament?
probably bc it wouldn't mean anything to give figures wen you don't know how the part will be printed, in term of temperature, layer height, nozzle size, speed, and all those parameters than can influence bonding of layers.
