Hello from Kansas City, Mo
Greetings to All,
My name is Jason and live in Kansas City, Mo. As of this morning (3am) i finished my Rostock max Build and printed my very first object. The build went well and I am very pleased with the first print quality despite my completely screwing up the PID auto calibration (i was zombie tired). After getting some sleep and checking my calibrations I am currently printing the second fan shroud from the seemecnc manual. It appears to be going well. For the last 3 months I have been reading everything I can get my hands on with regard to 3d printing so i have some knowledge just no practice.
Problems I am currently experiencing:
When I add an STL file in Repetier-Host it places the object way off the print bed area. No matter what i sen to do I can't get it to place it on the print bed. I have to manually grab the object and move it to the center of the bed for slicing. I must have a dimension setting wrong somewhere but I haven't found it yet... Any suggestions? I am running Repetier-Host on Mac so it doesn't look anything like the pictures in the manual. I have had to do some poking around to find stuff and make some assumptions. I hope to move on to PLA soon and i even have some 618 Nylon that I am wanting to try.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Jason

Re: Hello from Kansas City, Mo
Welcome to the forum!
In Repetier Host under config, printer settings there is a printer shape tab. Make sure that the printer type is set to Rostock.
The Home settings should be set to Max, the printable radius needs set to the radius for your Max I think it is somewhere around 139mm
and the printable height is around 368. Hopefully this will fix your centering problem. I hope your Repetier Host for the Mac has these
same settings. Happy Printing!

Thanks for the warm welcome
What about the X min Xmax settings? they are not addressed in the manual.

Re: Hello from Kansas City, Mo
would it be the -radius and the +radius? so -67.5 and +67.5 ?

I am not sure, those settings are nothing like the windows version.Barefoothurst wrote:would it be the -radius and the +radius? so -67.5 and +67.5 ?
Could another Mac user help out with the proper values?

Re: Hello from Kansas City, Mo
That seems to be the bulk of my problems. The windows and mac versions look compleatly different...
Re: Hello from Kansas City, Mo
I am printing on another printer with mine right now or I would tell you what's on my mac.
I think it's -140 and 140. For some reason, more than a few things are different between mac and windows.
Good luck and WELCOME!

I think it a setting in slice3r. The manual says to set the print area to 180mm by 180mm. I don't think that correct. Maybe I don't understand. Still working the problem.
Re: Hello from Kansas City, Mo
JohnStack is correct. Here are my settings on the dimension tab.

Thank you Very much for the help!

I'm having the same issue, these are my settings now...
and yet when I add the peek fan it puts it outside the bed...

3DR: In your second screen shot, take a look at the line in the top right called Translation. I think the value for Y (214) is what's placing your object off the bed. Try zero for those translation values and it should show up in the center.
