Made a simple filament cleaner for the Rostock Max V2. A little shy about posting this, as it's a bit...em, unrefined... but I'm really here to learn, so hopefully I become better at creating models, learn to create threads, etc.

Don't be shy! That's pretty cool! Threads are pretty tricky. On some of my custom things I ended up using a tap as well.

Thanks!

I have so many things I want to make, but my modeling skill are pretty lacking. Online classes only take you so far, and I'm unfortunately housebound these days, otherwise I'd be all over taking some courses.

The only way to get better is to keep doing it, so KEEP DOING IT.

+1 Gene and as the song goes "do it, do it, do it until you're satisfied!"

Will do!

One of the biggest challenges I'm finding is with measurements! It's easy to design a model that stands alone, but trying to design something to perfectly fit an existing object / part, especially when that object has organic shapes...

I find myself spending more time taking measurements than anything else.

May I ask which Cad software are you using?

Mostly Solidworks 2014. I was starting to learn a bit of Inventor as well, but I was more comfortable jumping into Solidworks, since I had a tiny bit of hands-on during my time in college, and the fact that I still have my Intro to Solidworks textbook.

I eventually want to learn to use Rhino, or another more artsy modeling program.
