Judging from the movies, they offer about the same protection.

Whats the tallest thing you've built?
Last night I tried to max out my z height without touching the home switches. because the work-piece could not be centered on the build plate, I chickened out with a total height of 349.17mm or 13.75 inches.

I'm printing a much smaller version of the same model. I'm almost afraid to ask, but must... What print times are you getting with these mega parts?

Pretty impressive print on the legs without support!

Is this printed in ABS or PLA?
I also want to know the build time on the legs.

Would be awesome to see the completed thing put together.
How much plastic did you use ?
1 roll?

I have printed the Head (vary large), under-carrage, and both legs with 10-20% infill and I have used 3/4 of a 2kg roll. Its gleaming white PLA from http://makergeeks.com

I so want one of these. Except articulated and balanced using inertial sensors and a Teensy 3.1 controller! And have it really walk... Yes, folks tech is about to give us real imperial walkers for our toys!

You'll need some DU for the feet. Every digitigrade robot I've ever seen so far has huge feet to keep it stable.

I finished the print. it still needs to be sanded and painted but its in primer. It turned out to be 23" tall. So far my favorite kit.
