any way to "turn off" these thin ugly walls?

so i have had this on many smaller prints, these ugly extra pieces of wall where they dont merge with the model, but are printed against. i think they are very ugly and they are very weak.

is there any setting to turn this off?
i know its made when the walls are too thin but seriously, this is just too ugly!

Which slicer are you using, both KissSlicer and Cura tend to deal better with thin areas than Slic3r does.
