I will need to go to Grand Rapids, Michigan, before the end of May, for nearly 2 months.
I won't have my printer with me, so I'll have some spare time for other things in the evenings and week ends.
If anyone knows the place and has advices about what to do and see, it could help me.
In Europe, I usually like to camp in the wild, as the area seems to be convenient for it, near to the lakes, I wonder if that is something you can do in US, legally speaking ?

Re: Grand Rapids, Michigan
Grand Rapids should be rather warm that month. I'm about 2 hours away (so is SeeMeCNC!) and it's just starting to get nice here. You'll be relatively close to the lake shore (Lake Michigan, that is) and there are a lot of things to do in those towns. Holland, Muskegon, and Grand Haven are the big 3 up there. Grand Rapids is a decent town, itself. Holland has a few breweries and hosts lots of summer events. Kalamazoo would be a fun trip... Traverse City would be a great weekend trip too.
There ought to be a lot of things to do if you seek them out. If you're a camper, the Manistee national forest is just a little North of there.
What sort of business will be bringing you to the states?

Thank you !!
I am happy to hear that there are actually some things to do. I would not stand on watching TV all day long, waiting for the week end to pass.
I'll try to do more research from the tips you gave me.
I work for a major european company in aeronautical field, and they are taking over a project that is being develloped in GR. I still don't know why do they need to send someone there from France, as there are many people in the US who would be more suitable for that task, but when they asked who's up for a 2 months mission in the US, I raised my hand...
SeeMeCNC is not too far ?? that is some interesting things to hear.
