Hi

I think it`s a easy thing, but my filament distributor does not gave me these important informations.

How long is the PLA wire 1.75mm of a 1 Kg PLA spool ? I found very different informations from 400m to 350m?

For me essential, because Slic3r only calculates in lenght of the wire and cm³.

Thank you in advance.

Bye.

If the supplier can give you the density of the material (or you use a generally accepted number (off the MSDS?)) you may calculate a rough estimate yourself. Not sure what kind of accuracy you need.

You can get the mm from the cm^3.

1.75 mm = 0.175cm.

(0.175/2)^2 × pi is the surface area of your filament. Divide the cm^3 number you have with what you just calculated and you have the necessary filament in cm.

As for exactly how many meters of filament you buy... the only way to get an exact number in my opinion is to measure it. If you are getting from a reputable buyer, they should be able to tell you. If it is just from the net, I would not trust them anyway.

Hi Elysio

I have found that many posts on the internet mention 330 meters, but I have also seen figures as high as 400 meters as you mention.

Faberdashery states this: "100 meters is about 300g or 241cc", so 1 kg must be about 333 meters (of the Faberdashery PLA).
