I have run into a puzzle while building my printer.

While assembling the Cheap Skates, I got to the step to install the #6-32 Flat Head Stainless Screws into the U-Joint Carrier being careful to put it in the right most hole.

Well there doesn't appear to be a hole, never was, apparently not even thought about on my three carriers. Has something changed and is not reflected in the manual? The one I am using was downloaded on Friday. I believe that this screw is used to adjust the axis home positions.

I can quickly shoot a hole in the top of the carrier, not a big deal but I need to know where it is supposed to be, anyone got an idea or can measure the location?

It's in an awkward spot, right on that corner. See the pic. Basically it will line up with the inside line of alum tower. Directly above will be the tripper switch to signal the Home position.

So far things in general have gone well. Got the missing hole and I ordered a black kit - got a white one. Little disappointed but not worth returning the kit. Going to go ahead and build the hot end with a screw in thermistor and cartridge heater from the git go. Using a modular Power Supply to clean up the wiring and running #14 wire to the Bed Heater.

Got a Z-Corp 450 at the office and these units appear to approach the quality in all but the fine detail. The parts are infinitely more durable also. Five years makes a lot of difference in technology and in cost. The 450 was $52,000 in 2009.

Back in April I ordered the white kit and got the black one. Go figure. I've seen it happen a few times, think they need to check their orders better.

But it's really just an aesthetic thing - it prints the same either way, and at the end of the day, still love mine!

Mystery solved.

Using the helpful picture posted above, I was able to spot, drill and tap the holes. They line up with the switches and trip correctly.

A nice job indeed! It is not easy to drill the hole because of its location.
