My H1 is nearly ready for first squirt. I'm planning on going open source as much as possible so I'll be trying out LinuxCNC. I also took a few short videos of what went wrong with my assembly process which I hope to arrange and offer to others as a "Assemble H1 by (bad) Example." Nice to meet you all. Mark

It'll be fun to see your Machine. Working with linux based cnc is something I want to do, but don't have enough time to do. Thanks for supporing SeeMeCNC!

Apparently I did not fully seat the bearing in the gear and this resulted in the gear faces touching which caused them to bind a little.

The engineer in me wants to know WHY I am doing something, not just follow the instructions blindly. I ended up taking apart every assembly at some point and re-doing it when I hit the 'Oh NOW I understand!' moment. The pictures help but i still made mistakes.

Another one was beautiful - when assembling the Z axis carriage you are supposed to put one bolt opposite all the others, i.e. with its head and nut reversed. I didn't know why until I added the extruder and wouldn't you know my nuts were touching the extruder (not what you're thinking...) I messed it up again, a simple concept, put the 'head' side toward the extruder since the larger nuts would get too close to the extruder if you don't. I guess I'm the type that has to do it wrong first
