Rep Host not receiving temperature information properly

Post by pyrophreek »

I just connected to my printer this morning, and the temperature curve on rep host wasn't updating properly. After messing with some settings, I found one that allowed me to see the temperature again, but it looks really strange. Any idea how to get the old nice line back?

Setting was under printer settings>printer>check extruder and bed temperature (checkmark)

As you can see when I enable this setting, I get the solid graph, and when it is off I get nothing. All temperatures read as zero.

Anyone experienced something similar? know how to fix it?

A loose wire, bad connection to the thermistor could explain that.

When the connection break the temp reads below 0. I was getting -19 C when my thermistor cracked up.

The thing is it is working fine on the LCD panel on the front. Printer even prints just fine.

Check the USB cable. Re-seat the cable on the inside of the rostock, and at the computer.

Also check the log at the bottom and see if you're getting any checksum errors.

Any chance that your computer was really busy doing something? Sometimes that can hang a process preventing it from collecting data, but the graph still keeps clocking by.

plugged and unplugged usb, restarted printer, no errors in rep host, computer wasn't doing anything but a browser window open. Also, when I first opened rep host today, the graph wasn't even moving. I had to manually go in and start monitoring

Sounds like 2 problems.

1. The gaps look like missing data. The graph looks like it's just missing data points.

2. Check the settings in the Temperature drop down. Then exit the program, and bring it back up and make sure they are all still set the way you left them.

Never rule out blaming a hardware failure. Check the event logs in windows to see if something is going on. Never know when a virus scan thinks you have something strange, and quarantines a file. Or a hard drive lags because windows update was creating a restore point.

I can say that I haven't see that problem unless I've had a connection problem, which is pretty rare.

Are you using the seemecnc image for the rambo? Which Rev?

soooo...weirdest thing....i printed something off the sd card with computer disconnected. Shut off machine, went to lunch, came back to tackle the problem, and it is gone...temperatures registering just fine...

I have no idea what happened or why this is now working...
