Wow. I didn't know it was that much of a problem. I love how people solve stuff. To me, this creates some complexity that I'm not quite sure I would want to deal with. I see some extra X-axis jerk as the result of this - as well as simply more mechanicals to go awry. I'll be curious to see how it goes.

Hopefully the benefits will outweigh the added complexity and issues... I'll definitely be keeping an eye on it, but think I'll pass on backing it. It's already reached it's goal, so I look forward to seeing how well it performs. I think the 5th gen Makerbot has the same feature, could be wrong, but I remember seeing a video of the hotend hopping around.

Not sure how well that works for it though.

the dual+ looks sick but why would anyone want a single extruder of this type? unless they wanted to avoid using zlift.... /shrug

Well I took the bite, since I already have one of their single stepper/dual extruders on the way why not try the dual hotend too.

Awesome, you made me second guess my decision to pass... I''m still on the fence actually, but I need to be more careful with my spending. I've been a bit out of control lately.

Or get it the way so many others have done it, be born into it.
Oh I forgot again, Sam Walton's kids earned every penny.
