LCD Stopped Displaying - Using Repetier 091

I've been using the latest Repetier 091 firmware for about 2 months now, and about two weeks ago the LCD display stopped displaying. When I turn on the printer it lights up but is blank. It did this to me one about a month ago, and re-flashing the firmware seemed to fix it. I've re-flashed Repetier 091 again today however the LCD will not come back to life.

The last time when it died, the LCD turned off when I inserted an SD card. Now when I insert the SD card it makes the mounting noise and unmounting noise but I don't see any update on the LCD. It would be nice to print off the SD card again, the laptop is not always reliable. The printer seems to still work via USB at least. Any ideas?

I would guess you have some bad wiring, or the cable you are using to the display is too long and there is enough noise to prevent it working.

I reseeded the cables, I'll double check that they are on right. I've never messed with them once I got the printer working, so they shouldn't be in the wrong order. I don't know how that would explain the LCD working then just deciding to take a break. As for being to long, they are the cables that came with the kit. Any shorter and I don't think I could open the door.

Only thing I can think of is I some how fried the display. I hope not....

If it was working then quit, it is probably a connector that is not making the proper contact with its pins.
I would remove the two cables completely, marking them somehow so that you put them back in the same orientation.
Remove the connector from the Rambo card then reinstall the Rambo connector and the two cables.
Hopefully that will restore proper connection to all the pins and it will work again.

I addition, check your solder joints on the adapter card with a low power hand lens. Look for cold joints (frosty looking), incomplete joints, solder bridges and excessive flux. Each pin should have a nice shiny fillet of solder between the pin and the card pass through/trace.
