Rostock issue with Homing and hitting the end stops

Post by Vakbezel »

I go to home the machine and sometimes it just wont go all the way to the top......
OR
it WILL go to the top, but it doesn't want to stop. It will keep clunking up into the top again and again (I turn it off...but..)
Hopefully that makes sense.
I'm a bit of a noob here..
Also when I adjust the Z max value in the EEPROM to be a lower value, thats normally when it doesn't reach the top, almost like it thinks 3/4ths of the way to the top is 0.0 home
But it depends how far I've physically pushed down the actual axis' themselves. So forgive me for sounding like a newbie but is there some kind of way to know what these numbers are SUPPOSED to be? like a formula, or somewhere where I can find it.. Like in some kind of settings?? I'm gonna just admit I'm stumped here.
It's almost like it just doesn't recognize that its hitting the end stops over and over?

Any advice helps! thank you

To me it sounds like your end stops are getting false signals, where it thinks the end stop is being activated, while it actually isn't. I'd check your endstop wiring, and make sure they aren't inducing signals from your stepper motors. Make sure the wires are not running parallel to each other. Sorry if you know more about electronics than I do. Just my 2cents, hope its worth more to you.

cheers

Thanks so much for your responses. I personally didn't put the machine together. I think I may disassemble it since the wiring was all cruddy looking. No point in being lazy here
